To meet the demand for an easy to use fully developed Cavity Closer, Brickwork Former and Window Installation System for the house builder, we are pleased to introduce the Cavalok system.

The permanent PVCu template system fulfils all of these functions in a single operation without the need for a separate cavity closer.

This outstanding Cavity Closer/Former System is designed to suit 75mm or 50mm cavities, 150mm and 180mm Cills may be used to suit any environment.

If frost resistant bricks are used, the front overhang of the Cill can be as little as 25mm to 30mm, but if ordinary bricks are used it is recommended that the overhang is at least 40mm.

Cavalok lends itself to either application and is fully flexible

METHOD OF INSTALLATION

The finished former should be transported to site and stored in an upright position until ready for installation.

The Cavalok cavity closure and former is lifted into position on the wall at Cill level (the cavity closure is marked at the factory to denote the outside of the unit) and bricked up using the wall ties supplied. Wall ties are to be inserted into the cavity closure on the sides at intervals of every third course.

IMPORTANT: At all times the frame is to be kept plumb and square to enable the window to be fitted true.

When the brickwork is complete the glazed window frame is ready to be installed.

Apply bed of silicone to the bottom of the window, present the Cill and screw the cill to the frame, wiping off any excess silicone.

Screw the fixing lugs to the frame as indicated in fig.2 keeping them spaced within 150mm of each corner of the frame and then spaced at centres of no more than 600mm. Present the frame into the the opening, either from inside or out ensuring you position the frame so that the correct Cill overhang is achieved depending on the Cill and brick type you are using. It is advised that you bed the Cill onto a small layer of foam or silicone.

Square up the frame and fix into position into the breeze blocks or dry wall, through the fixing holes in the lugs. Ensure at all times that the window is square and plumb in the opening.

After the frame is secure the perimeter of the frame will require sealing on the outside, a bead of painters caulk or acrylic is also recommended on the inside before plastering.
