The profiles are cut to size and immersed in a bath of liquid Glycerine
heated to a very high temperature, this has the effect of plastisizing the
profile and making it very soft, but without actually melting it.
The profile is then wrapped around a former shaped to the customers requirements,
this is a negative of the profile all the hollows are then filled with inserts
and the whole is placed on a special table onto which the former is bolted.
The profile is then cooled down naturally and when cold removed from the
table. The result is the shape in a stable format ready to be worked on in
the normal way.
Other angled shapes are made by cutting the profile with compound angle saws,
and mechanically joining the profiles using jigs to form the angles used
in conservatories, for example.
